Jazz From Hell won a GRAMMY® for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. This instrumental album is technically the last studio album that Zappa released in his lifetime. It is a prime example of Zappa's interest in cutting-edge musical technologies as it was composed and recorded almost entirely on his Synclavier, an early digital sampler / synthesizer.
